What not to watch
Raines NBC - Unconventional LAPD detective Michael Raines (Jeff Goldblum) begins to see hallucinations of murder victims as he investigates the crimes that led to their death. Initially, Raines thinks he's losing his mind -- but he slowly realizes these hallucinations are more a gift than a curse, and often lead him to the victims' killers. Raines' friends and foils include sympathetic supervisor Daniel Lewis (Matt Craven), sharp-witted civilian employee Carolyn Crumley (Nicole Sullivan), therapist Samantha Kohl (Madeline Stowe) and former partner Charlie Lincoln (Malik Yoba).
Bleh, another detective that see's ghosts kinda-show. I know it's the popular thing lately, and I really like Goldblum, but I just think he would work better in some sort of surrealistic show.
October Road ABC - Best-selling author Nick Garrett (Bryan Greenberg) hopes to get over his writer's block by going back to his hometown of Knights Ridge, Massachusetts. Once there, he realizes he's got to face the people he wrote about unfavorably in his successful novel -- people he's successfully avoided these last 10 years. Best friend Eddie Latekka (George Stults) is disappointed that Nick abandoned their dream of starting a business together, and high school girlfriend Hannah Daniels (Laura Prepon) has moved on with her life. While Nick doesn't regret fulfilling his mother's dying wish that he experience life outside Knights Ridge, he struggles to be included again among those he let down.
That title alone bores the hell out of me.
In case you missed it
South Park Repeat Comedy Central - 10 pm/ 9 central. When another one of Cartman's practical jokes puts Butters in a compromising position, his dad sends him to a camp to straighten him out.
Yeah pedophiles, and reformed pedophiles should skip this show. Not for the faint of heart and easily offended either.
